Today, our special correspondent Christophe Barbier went investigated risking his life by slipping clandestinely within the dangerous cult "the brotherhood of horizons," that even Opus Dei is concerned.

Thanks Simone, yes indeed, the sect's mission is to spread the ultra-trail in our region as they drive down GRP-Pas de Calais.
Fearing for my little toes, I waited patiently for the fraternity is working to a distance less than 100km.

The journey continues in this dream until Wissant where the Brotherhood intends to make a supply beer and coke in a small coffee shop on the Place de Wissant.
Because nothing stops the Brotherhood ... EXCEPT ... a good pint ...

Our entry has aroused the curiosity of tourists, but little enthusiasm from the madams.
Nevermind, about one quarter later, here we go again.

We leave the coast for beautiful hilly trails, sometimes very muddy, which will lead us to our next step: the starting point of the 3 to Tamalous Peuplingues.
Once there, the latter gives us a feeding everyone has appreciated at its true value. And
1/4h later, the time of separation with the 3 Tamalous.
For us, now also transfer Tamalous, it remains about 28km to go.

The rhythm is very regular, no one speaks and suddenly, I understand the meaning of Tamalou.
As time passed, the landscape until s'applanissent Guines.
From there, more depth to the finish.
Good thing it is 17h and the light begins to fade.
It's time to return until Calais along a path that seems endless along the canal of Guines.
Then a detour to Coulogne and it's arrival in Calais.
must still find the moral walk down the long boulevards of Calais before the belfry to see who will certify to us for our impending arrival.
Fortunately for me, because I was starting to turn me into TAPAMALOU ...
And now, after 9 am, running about 72km and 1000m of ascent, it's here!

70 km walk with to start more than twenty kilometers seaside cliffs along the Cap Blanc-Nez then returns to the land through fields by offering a flat terrain including the rise of "Belle Vue" and "Tappecul" the well-appointed but also of Mount Torque (164m) which offers a magnificent view over the site of the two caps, the Strait of Dover and the surrounding countryside. Passage near the terminal Euro-Tunnel pour le clin d'œil . Puis quelques kilomètres boisés à l'orée de la forêt de Guînes avant d'atteindre la ville du même nom et son marais. Et ensuite une arrivée vers Calais en longeant le canal.
Bref tout ça m'a l'air bien alléchant. Le bonus est que par beau temps les côtes anglaises seront même visibles à plusieurs endroits !

Si vous le pouvez , prévoyez un peu de temps pour souffler avec un p'tit resto côtier qui nous ragaillardira !

In the wake of experiencing the GRP bolts solicited roughly agencies, Lawrence, Jerome and Olivier made the finding of their damage. Jerome suffered mainly from blistered feet and pretty painful if Oliver had for his feet and legs almost intact it was still in his back the open wounds of its heavy stuff. But that Lawrence was the most affected and it has indeed not been sparing of his forces the day before, leading the caravan in almost all the journey and he allowed this one to arrive in reasonable time. His impetuous commitment on the long road of Boulogne was so sacrificial as he announced sadly to his colleagues no longer have the strength to accompany them on the route of the GRP Belt Boulogne.
Celebrating his arrival in the Knights of the Horizons by this heroic ride, which he had previously done only one exit beyond the 60 km!

If this first shipment of GRP Belt Boulogne went smoothly and ended fraternal coffee on the terrace of the station rocked by a generous sun.
Welcome to three new Knights: Remy, Olivier (the "referring" not to be confused) and Philippe alias PhildeFer and thank you to them for their good humor and enthusiasm saving from Jerome and Olivier, who are now the Knights scored two of Seal of the Alliance Boulonnaise accomplished on a weekend the 131 km in the Boulogne 5:43 p.m. the GRP and the 46 km of GRP 5:33 Belt Boulogne Sur Mer

For the GRP Boulonnais the longer the list, 3 Knights responded to the sound of the kill, Lawrence, Jerome and Olivier .
They agreed to meet you the night before their commander of the Opal Coast to be closer to the place of departure until the early hours of the day. After their hearty meal designed to overcome the stressful day, Morpheus invited himself shortly before midnight to take off almost as soon as 3:00 am. They set out early, very (too) alleviated by hour of sleep because they knew they announced the 123 km take the day, praying that this is no longer ...

We can now proclaim to you, the weekend of August 8 and 9 will be red on the trails!

because the Brotherhood has scheduled a double whammy. We begin our adventure Saturday, August 8 with the 123 km Tour du Boulogne (from Wissant) enchainer for the next day (Sunday, August 9th ... are you following?) By 43 km from Boulogne Belt. So we will draw at the forefront of our stride a pretty big Boulonnaise Eight coast.

For those wishing to embark on the challenge of 170 km on the wk, do not hesitate to make known to you because there will be surely a possibility of sleeping on the coast but places are very small. Otherwise you are free to join us on either of these two outputs given that the 43 km of the Belt of Boulogne is a good opportunity to enter smoothly into the world of the Brotherhood! The pace is also very cool because Jerome and Olivier among others will still be 123 km in the legs since yesterday ...

Starting times will be announced soon, until then there is still time to cancel your holiday you do know. Little paper mussels and fries on the Coast is of course the program to close this wk iodized.

The story I was off early from the Gare d'Hesdin under a fine rain that will not let me the first time. The first few miles at night in the forest of Hesdin are very nice although a sound very reminiscent of a wild boar ... I am much hurry. Not that I do not like this company but it's just that this GRP, I decided to do it alone, without cheating with a company not under ... We will say that!
The sunrise is a feast for the eyes, and always smells legs by now. The rain has stopped, the front and fluorescent jacket are stored and later I joined the Authie up to Dompierre-sur-auth. The rise of
Authie is not very hard by the altitude but it is this part that my legs are starting to find that this escapade is perhaps welcome for their peace and well-being. Two long showers later arrival at Auxi-le-Chateau is an opportunity to stop at a coffee shop history take me a little coke. It's now resting a bit but soon I found myself in the hard ...
Here comes a very nice area on the grass (unfortunately for my feet wet), tree-lined ... Very nice indeed but it will last about 10 kilometers it's long and it's long (and note in passing that the less you will quickly and it lasts a long time) ... A second well-deserved break in a cafe with Frévent coca and recharge my water bladder and here we go again for the last stretch ...

Regarding GRP Pas de Calais, we stayed on the number of 9 according to official descriptions of the guidebooks RWPF. 9, nothing more, nothing less ... and yet ...
During a recce to the secret projects of the Brotherhood I made a very surprising discovery.
and frolicking through the plains of Artois, a tourist sign a bit lost near an abandoned trail catches my attention ... I take a picture quickly telling me that I'll watch it all at your leisure on returning home and therefore continued my walk.
few days later, although calm, I import and view my photos and what was my surprise ...!

On the old sign I photographed appears a map of the area where the specified our legendary RPG. Reflex makes me count: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, ... 10 ...!!! I recount and arrived well in 10!

There is therefore a 10th GRP! A secret path, forgotten, erased from memory cards and ...

I compare our list with names and name this mysterious GRP appears finally: The GRP Audomarois!

Description: A course
very rich and wonderful countryside views and numerous single track. A plot, therefore, very enjoyable and fun but watch the altitude is serious. Passages are sometimes so "wild" to be sure the plan to be sure to rush on track. Herbs can indeed reach the size and hide the entrance of certain passages, especially the markup is often absent.
Feel free to give you a break on the terrace center Auxi Castle (50th km ca.) leaving a mere 300m from the route. This small town is crossed by the Authie really welcoming with its quiet charms.
We also invite you to slow down when you pass by on Boubers Canche. A village beautifully decorated with a bucolic paradise flower farm. A haven of serenity that you have to enjoy the time by refueling on her pretty little place.
A majority of the last 20 km is shared with the circuit of the GRP Ternois South and has a little more than asphalt, but the scenery is wonderful.
little anecdote, for the first time since the beginning of our adventures we grazed a snake! It was the first time we find one in our area! Now the suction-venom will be part of the emergency kit of the Brotherhood. A wild journey

The brotherhood is very quiet since the ride that took us across our country. Today, it is time to resume the quest, knights!

Although many personal projects (24h, 100km, et autres marathons et ultra-trails) ont entrecoupé cette période apparemment bien calme, un projet se pointerait à l'horizon ! Week-end prochain !? Un GRP ? Pourquoi pas ?
Même si pour moi et peut-être Jérôme, ce sera 3 jours après Steenwerck ... que fait-on ? Un petit GRP quand même ?

A vos agendas !!! Fixons cette prochaine quête !!
